Job Description:
The Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) seeks dedicated and experienced Programme Assistants to provide technical and administrative support for programme officers. This role involves implementing programmes, managing reports and activity plans, and contributing to advocacy and research efforts. The successful candidates will report to Programme Officers and contribute to the mission of promoting inclusion and equal participation for persons with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Implementation:
- Assist programme officers in managing and implementing programmes.
- Coordinate activities, events, and meetings.
- Develop and manage reports, activity plans, and budgets.
- Conduct research and organize information for presentations, advocacy, and publications.
- Analyze documents to support team review.
- Prepare policy statements, position papers, and advocacy materials.
- Summarize large reports for key highlights.
Support partnership initiatives.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance to team members.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Coordinate meetings, events, and conferences.
- Contribute to organizational budget preparation and governance-related budgets.
Administrative Support:
- Manage schedules, appointments, and travel arrangements for programme officers.
- Maintain accurate records and databases.
- Organize files and ensure confidentiality.
- Support budget and project activity document preparation.
Reporting and Communication:
- Contribute to knowledge materials for effective communication.
- Prepare programme reports and budgets.
- Maintain organized databases and records.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Disability Studies, Development Studies, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in working with persons with disabilities or disability inclusion.
- Strong skills in analyzing technical documents and simplifying results.
- Proficiency in internet research and PowerPoint presentations.
- Experience in supporting administrative functions.
- Demonstrated research, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in an inclusive and cross-cultural environment.
