Job Description:
John Murphy Construction is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Manager to lead business development and project management efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, securing construction projects, and ensuring successful execution while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure new construction projects while building and maintaining relationships with clients, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders, ensuring compliance and profitability.
  • Negotiate project contracts and assess risks to align with company objectives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project success.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to refine the company’s business strategy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the construction industry, in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred). A master’s degree in engineering or management is an added advantage.
  • Proven track record in construction project management and business development.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and legal aspects of construction management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an added advantage.
