Job Description:
Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd (AGGL), a subsidiary of Galiano Gold Inc., seeks a skilled and experienced Electrical Supervisor for its Processing Department. The role involves leading electrical technicians to ensure electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance work are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with OSHAS 18001, ISO 14001, company policies, and environmental regulations.
- Generate, issue, and control daily job cards for electrical tasks.
- Maintain critical electrical spares within specified limits.
- Document all electrical maintenance work accurately.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tasks.
- Oversee safe execution of tasks, including permits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
- Maintain electrical infrastructure and equipment to meet reliability and uptime KPIs.
- Communicate regularly with the Unit Manager – Electrical and Instrumentation and other supervisors.
Ensure regulatory compliance. - Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of a Degree/HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of practical electrical engineering experience in mining or related environments, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
- MV switching experience and expertise in MV motors.
- Experience in process heating systems, including kilns and ovens.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Ghanaian driving license with ability to drive in rough terrain.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and standards.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership abilities to motivate and inspire teams.
